HILLS REGION & BOTTOMS REGION WHITETAIL HUNTS:

Safety belts are mandatory on all hunts. Please remember to bring a good flashlight with fresh batteries. Solid blaze orange hat & vest (no broken patterns) are required during all black powder & rifle seasons, even when bow hunting. Cell phones come in handy to contact your guide in case of emergency. Any good camouflage will work during bow season. We recommend knee-high rubber boots and/or half-rubber boots for scent control. Any type of call or rattle can work, but we suggest using them sparingly. Our opinion is that no scent is the best, but you are welcome to use any that you like. Please do your due diligence before you arrive & become as knowledgeable as possible with regard to scoring deer according to Pope & Young standards. We want you to have the best possible opportunity to harvest a true trophy whitetail and letting the small ones walk is where it all begins!

Package Details for Hills Region Whitetail Hunts: Meals, lodging, guides, min. of 8 stands/hunter, field transportation & game skinned, quartered & frozen. Requested arrival is 11:00 a.m. Lunch is at 12:00 noon followed by a safety briefing—your guide will take you to appointed stand locations around 2:00 p.m. Harvest limits for the 2006 season are up to three does with optional bonus tags and one trophy buck meeting or exceeding the following Hills Region guidelines: 1.) 130” gross minimum for any 8-point or smaller whitetail, or 2.) 140” gross minimum for any antlered deer sporting nine or more points. There are no trophy fees! However, there is a $100/inch assessment for any antlered buck harvested which does not meet the minimum requirements as set forth in the guidelines above. (Max. assessment is $1,000.)

Package Details for Bottoms Region Whitetail Hunts: One stand/hunter to get you jump-started. Guide to put you and keep you on deer. Transportation, care of game, extra tree stands, meals, lodging, etc. are not included. Freezer space & walk-in cooler are available at Deer Creek Lodge (888.875.3000). Guide fee is a minimum $100/person & is due and payable to your guide upon arrival. No trophy fees assessed when harvesting a buck in the Bottoms Region, but you must observe a 125” gross score P. & Y. or B. & C. minimum harvest requirement. Any hunter harvesting a buck that scores less than the 125” minimum requirement will be assessed $50/inch up to a maximum of $500.

Lodging (Bottoms Region Whitetail Hunts): Comfortable lodging & good food are available at a variety of motels & restaurants in Henderson, KY, although most of our guests stay at the Ramada Inn (270.826.6600).

Three-day hunts include private rooms, meals, three nights’ lodging, guides (1-on-1,) three a.m. turkey hunts, field transportation, a fair-chase opportunity to take two mature gobbles, & birds dressed & vacuum-packaged. Trophy bass fishing is available after noon for a nominal fee. Any pattern camouflage from head to toe is a must, including a face mask. Any 20 gauge to 12 gauge shotgun will suffice, but magnums are preferred. Shot sizes of #4s to #6s are legal in Kentucky. Please purchase and install a “turkey choke” on your barrel and pattern your gun at 40 yards before arrival. Pump action or semi-automatic shotguns must be plugged to hold a maximum of three shells.
